"Thank you, Teresa, for taking care of my shoes at Shoe Wiz. This is my go-to spot for shoe repairs as it's close to work and they can do same-day repairs: drop off the shoes by noon and they'll be ready for pickup by closing time same day. I mistakenly wake over a tree grate, damaging my Gucci bootie's heel, losing the heel cap and ruining the leather on the heel. These shoes came with two pairs of heel caps when I purchased them years ago that I provided to the repair shop to faciliate the repair as I wanted to get these shoes as close to original condition. Teresa gladly took my order and is very friendly and professional. I was quoted $25 and accepted it as I did not have much time to shop around for a better deal. I should have asked what the price would have been if I didn't provide my own heel caps to repair my shoes.All-in-all, I'm happy with the results and added a tip to my payment.I recommend this spot for fast, reliable and professional service."

"The strap holder for my purse tore - the part sewn onto the purse body. This is a weird purse made out of recycled truck inner tubes. Shoe Wiz perfectly repaired it for $25 AND next day pickup!!It's a tiny little shop - all the repair equipment is right behind the counter. Embarcadero Three location is super convenient for those of us working downtown. And the woman doing the repairs was super kind! Thank you Shoe Wiz."

"I brought my boots from Miami to SF just to get help from this shop. Reliable, trustworthy, fair. I’ll be taking all of my shoes here in the future even if I have to ship them over or take them on business trips :)"

"I agree with the many people who praise Shoe Wiz and the ethical integrity of the woman who runs this shop. I have come here many, many times over 8 years. She charges very reasonable fees and the turnaround is quick. The work is professional. Her attitude is pleasant and professional. Highly recommended."

"5 stars - Quick, expert shoe shine in the Financial District! If you're in San Francisco and your shoes need a fast, professional polish, head straight to Shoe Wiz. My Cole Haans were already in decent shape, but I wanted them looking sharp. Teresa, the owner, welcomed me right away, had me sit at the counter, and got to work treating and shining them. In under 10 minutes, they looked absolutely brand new--seriously impressive work! She was friendly, skilled, and did it all with a great smile. Fantastic while-you-wait service. Highly recommend for anyone needing a quick refresh on their dress shoes"

"I must have spilled a drop of something on these men’s dress shoes - the left shoe (right in the photo) had a huge spot right in the middle near the top seam. It was WAY lighter than even the lightest part of the shoe, so it drew attention to their being discolored. I brought them to a different shoe repair place first, but the guy working there said he couldn’t fix it - he could only re-color both shoes to a coffee brown, which would’ve erased their nice two-tone color. I then took my shoes to Shoe Wiz. At first, the lady working there grimaced when she saw the spot - the spot was that bad!! - but then I could see the wheels turning in her head. She decided she could fix it and said to come back the same time the next day, quoting me $40. I came back the next day and presto, the spot was totally gone! The shoes match again and look great. The price was solid and she was very friendly throughout the process. The thing that stood out to me is that she has technical expertise beyond other shoe repairs in the area - she was willing to take on an issue that another (higher-rated, for now) repair shop wouldn’t, and she did an amazing job with fast, friendly service. Highly recommend!!"

With so much creativity and good work, and with a 24-hour turnover, these gloves feel like new again!! Would recommend for any leather boxing gloves!! 🥊🥊 …"

"Excellent work with the 2 pairs of boots I dropped off. One pair I had re-heeled and soled and another pair I got dyed another color. Was extremely happy with both services, which were done in less than a week and for a reasonable price. Very excited to have a reliable cobbler downtown like Shoe Wiz!"

"Miracle workers! They can resole anything. I brought in 2 pairs of my favorite boots that were ground down well past the sole, torn seams, etc, and they transformed them back into like new, but without the pain of having to break them back in again. They also added soles to some new boots I purchased. The soles had 0 traction at all, were just flat wood, so they added a rubber sole with tons of traction so that I can actually wear them outside. You'd never be able to tell it wasn't from the original manufacturer. They basically take shoes and make them better and stronger, so they last 10 times longer. Long Live Shoe Wiz!"

"Had issue with my LL Bean waterproof inside soul. When I wear it the soul would rub my right side of the skin. She took great care to put another piece of leather strap around it. When I wear it now it feels so comfortable thanks to her expertise."

"Shoe Whiz has been around a while. I've always enjoyed fast service with a pleasant conversation and smile. Price went up due to pandemic for shoe repair so am less likely as before to invest much in shoes to last years.. However doing business requires nice clean shoe buffing on the go this place provides nicely in 10 minutes."

"Quick turnaround, great customer services, quality work. I brought 2 pairs of heels in on Monday afternoon for heel tip replacement. It costs ~$19 per pair. I was told by the (extremely friendly and nice) lady working there that they would be ready by 2pm the next day - and they were! Also, I had scratched/torn the leather on my heels, and wasn't expecting that to be fixed, but was pleasantly surprised when I picked up my shoes that they had repaired that too, for no extra charge! Will definitely be coming back in the future, since they did such a good job, and at what i think is a pretty reasonable price. Another plus: super convenient location in embarcadero center, very close to my workplace office."

"In San Francisco, especially the Financial Distirct, there a lots of shoe repair places. But, I have found that this one is by far my favorite and least expensive! The customer service is great. I am always greeted pleasantly. In addition, they only take a day or less for all of my repairs. I usually come in to get the worn down heels of my shoes fixed and have paid ($10 to $20) for this type of repair. In comparison, other shoe repair places nearby have charged me $30+ for one shoe...If you work in the Financial Distict and need a speedy and affordable shoe repair, I definitely recommend coming here!"

  • Zach H.
    2018-07-12

"The best shoe repair place around. They offer a quick turnaround and great quality. I can go six months or so of continual use without needing to replace the soles they gave me! The other places in FiDi=not nearly as good."

  • Logan Y.
    2018-05-07

"I'm very happy with the new heels on my wolverine 1,000 miles. He used quality vibram heels and finished them as good as the factory. Fast service and reasonable pricing as well. I've also had him put a vibram half sole on the same pair of boots and those have held up for about a year now and still look great. I've used a few shoe repair places in sf and this is the best one I've come across. I plan on having him put half soles on my dress shoes as well."

    2018-05-02

"Place was located near my work and needed a quick turnaround on some dress shoes that needed new soles. The shoes had scuffs as well but when I got them back after only 2 days they looked brand new. The man at the counter was friendly and easy to work with. Will definitely bring more repairs here needed in the future."

"After having my boots 'fixed' about three months ago by another shoe repair shop in the city, I was waking along the embarcadero on my lunch break and suddenly both my soles were falling off. Not cool. I walked into Shoe Wiz and was greeted kindly and shown how the other repair shop failed to properly fix my boots and I was helped right away! And in 15-20 minutes... viola! He had glued and sewed my soles back on. Quick, friendly and reasonable. And you helped this girl walk home with happy feet. Thank you! I will definitely be back."

"I took in a pair of goodyear welted Yukuten moccasins with chewed up crepe soles for sole replacement. They do not do crepe sole replacements, but offered to replace with vibram rubber soles instead. He had two color choices. He also offered one day turnaround. Given the alternative of a factory recraft that could take several weeks at double the cost, I went with Show Wiz. The workmanship was excellent, and the shoes look like new. They also fixed some stitching that was coming apart and cleaned the shoes."

"Shoe Wiz is my go-to shoe repair shop in San Francisco.Everyone working at the shop is always nice, providing tips, and delivering on or before the promised date.Today I got my boots back from having the heels sanded down 1/2 and was blown away by how good it looked. It seems they even gave the shoe a polish. I have never been disappointed coming here. They are shoe wizards. Thanks for the amazing craftsmanship!"

"I was having a book launch party at Sens Restaurant last night and the sole of my shoe broke right before the party started. My husband quickly ran my shoe down to Shoe Wiz and the guy stopped what he was doing and glued my shoe back together and fixed it. What a nice thing to do, I greatly appreciate it! My husband tried to pay but the man in Shoe Wiz told him not to worry. I will definitely bring them my business in the future- thank you!"

"Walked into shoe wiz because my leather strap on my sandal kept sliding off. The guy inside was so nice and was telling me it was because the leather was stretching which is normal. He punched another hole into the strap and I was good to go again! Took maybe 7 minutes max and part of that time we were just chatting about our day.Very sweet and helpful man. I would come back to him for more of my shoe needs.Definitely go here. He had me fixed up and ready to walk to more places without a droopy strap!"

"I've been using this cobbler for over a decade now. They've fixed many pairs of shoes for me, as well as a couple of purses over the years. The work has always been top-notch. Every now and then I've been disappointed, but only b/c I was asking them to do something that couldn't be done (i.e., stretch shoes that weren't leather or get evil cat pee smell out of my favorite boots). The prices are a little steep sometimes, but not as bad as they could be given that it is in the FiDi. In fact, for a few small jobs they haven't charged me at all! Also a huge plus are the employees - in my experience they are all really kind and honest re what you can expect on a given job."

"I work around Embarcadero Center so needless to say this is the most convenient shop on the block... but that is not why i go here. The partnership between the two owners is absolutely wonderful! Whether he or she attends you, they tell you honestly whether your shoes or purse are repairable. They won't waste your time, money and make you get over it, haha - Orrr they will work a miracle and make you want to skip your merrily way out.I usually come in for small fixes (so I can't speak for the other reviewers =( like fixing my heels (hate the sound of those nails, ladies, please get them fixed!) and they charge pretty competitively to the place I used to go to on Battery St. The last time I came in it was for a miracle. I bought this cute purse at a discounted store, so when the zipper stopped zipping and would just pull apart as soon as i zipped it, I didn't want to spend a fortune to get it fixed (and who knows if that was going to work). Well, I took it in, the gentlemen told me it is the lady that usually fixes them so they would call me to tell me how much when she returned (because he wasn't sure if the original pull would be able to be work or if they would have to change it out, I was hoping for the first). A day or two went by (and even though they forgot to call) they fixed it and perhaps because i am a regular, and they forgot to call, they gave me a price you don't think twice about! I have to tell you, the craftsmanship is good as new, if not better, and I am in love with my little purse again!!! Shoe Wiz - Thank you so much for willing to help when you can, doing a great job and squeezing my "I'll wait for it jobs..." I recommend you to all my colleagues and anyone in the neighborhood."

"Cannot recommend enough! I have some great riding boots that got a bit worn this past winter, and was concerned about the faded color/worn surface. I've never had a pair of shoes that I've been this concerned about, so I took it over to Shoe Wiz not really knowing what to ask for except a good clean and polish. The woman at the counter started working on my boots as soon as I brought them in, and finished the job in under 5 minutes. They look completely new! And it only cost $8?? (Not sure what constitutes a good deal, but it seemed like a total steal. They really know what they're doing, and the service is fantastic and affordable--I can truly appreciate that here in the FiDi, land of the forever-overpriced everything."

"I will forever be grateful to Shoe Wiz for making me 2 matching leather buckles for my messenger-bag style purse. Who knew it would be so hard to find someone who will work leather for you in this city? I was an idiot 2 years ago and lost one of the leather buckles on this bag that my mom passed down to me from my grandmother. I was heartbroken that I ruined it, and finally made a mission of hunting down a place that would create a matching pair for me. I asked (and got rejected from) 3 different shoe repair shops and 1 luggage store in the FiDi until I got pointed to this little shop in the Embarcadero center that might be able to help me out. After listening to my story, the man and woman behind the counter were sympathetic and promised they'd do the best they could since they were limited in their machinery. At $75, they made me two matching buckles to return my little bag to working order. I expected to pay around the amount for the workmanship involved, and for two weeks waited with fingers crossed. I picked it up this afternoon, and was really impressed - you can barely tell they aren't the original ones, they even found matching hardware. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Shoe Wiz!!! I can't wait to use my purse again!"

"This place is outstanding in their commitment to customer service and doing top notch work!I have small calves and no one has ever been willing or able to size my boots for me. Not only did shoe whiz do it, they did it for and EXTREMELY reasonable price, and they exceeded my expectations with their craftsmanship. The boots are patchwork leather and Shoe Whiz managed to match the pattern when he resized the calf! And the work is so well done, you can't even tell there was work done on them. Great place, great people. If you have high end shoes, you can trust them to take great care of your babies :)"

"I have been to several cobblers, but this was by far the best. I love it when I take in that beloved pair of shoes that is all run down, and they are returned good as new. It's like having your brand new pair of shoes back again, but worn in, which is better than new. THANK YOU!"

"This is my first yelp review and I felt compelled to write one. I was halfway to work this morning when the heel on my boot came off. These are not cheap boots! But I tend to wear my shoes down to the ground. I was walking around with a peg for a heel for half the day, clanking everywhere I walked. Then, my coworker mentioned I should check out Shoe Wiz. I called ahead to make sure they could help me now (I couldn't afford to wait too long). They said yes! I walked over to embarcadero 3. I asked the clerk if he could fix my heel now - he said he would and it would be about 10 minutes. I was in and out in 15 minutes with heals that looked just like the originals. They even recommended a rubber sole that would make my boots last longer. My boots feel brand new!"

Can you give me 10 min?Smile back in place!Fixed in less than 10 min & I was outta there w/ perfect shoes once again.......$10.Can't beat that!"

"Wow. I got a pair of boots repaired here. There was a small tear in the faux leather, and my heels were destroyed to the point of slipping on the metal piece when on slick ground (okay, I was slipping on all surfaces). No joke, the ends of my heels looked like black leather banana peels with a metal banana coming through they were so busted. For $11.80, I got my shoes fixed. They look brand new. AND I picked them up the next day. AMAZING!I will be taking all of my shoe repairs here."

"Shoes. Shoes. Oh My God, Shoes. Let's Get Them!!!5+ days a week I live in high heels - thanks to my office job. Actually, because I am short I would probably end up wearing shoes even if I didn't have to dress up every day for work.Anywhoo, there is nothing worse than wearing out the tip of your high heel and hearing the click click of the metal on the ground. Oh wait, yes there is - almost eating it when you slip on slick surfaces because the metal tip is slippery on slick ground. I work nearby Shoe Wiz so it is extremely convenient. The employees are always extremely friendly and also offer great 'shoe repair advice' (aka shoe CPR). Not only is it inexpensive ($11 a tip), but also speedy (next day availability). I will continue to bring all my shoes here for some TLC!"

"These guys saved my prized shoes. The first pair of shoes that I brought in were a pair of black Franco Sarto stiletto shoes. The rubber heel on the stiletto was completely destroyed, so much that I was pretty much walking on a nail. Plus the heel itself had so many nicks on it that I covered it up with electrical tape.I handed my shoes over the nice gentleman at the counter and within 10 minutes time (I said that I could wait), my shoes looked brand new. The replaced the nail and rubber sole as well as covered up the nicks. For a total of $11, this a great deal considering the original value of the shoes an the years that I intend to continue wearing them. I highly recommend their services over buying replacement shoes (especially if shoes are still presentable)."

    2008-02-26

"Great work., timely service, nice folks...and they have reasonable prices! I brought in 2 pairs of shoes - 1st a simple heal replacement. The 2nd pair were my beautiful, work down to the bone, knee-length leather boots. The sole was ripping away from the leather upper and I was worried they would not be salvageable. The were ready in 2 days and were saved! Gorgeous! Yay =)"

"My leather and suede boots were mangled in a scooter accident recently, and I thought repair was hopeless. I took them to Shoe Whiz after reading a Yelp review--and I couldn't be happier! The leather had been scrapped across the front, the wood heel gouged out...they repaired all the scratched leather, buffed the heels and even weather proofed the suede! After 3 days at Shoe Whiz, they look brand new! It was $65, which was worth every penny, and I didn't have to shell out another $300 for a new pair! I will absolutely go back for any type of shoe repair...."

"I've taken just about every pair of heels I own to these guys because those bastard heel pad thingies allllllllways wear off (some sooner rather than later) and then all of a sudden I can hear the sharp click of the nail on the sidewalk instead of the dull click I'm used to hearing.Five stars for always doing a lovely job and only charging $11 to replace the heel pads.Minus half a point because I'm too stupid to remember which Embarcadero building they're in and I INVARIABLY walk through #'s 1 & 2 before remembering that they're in #3...which isn't really THEIR fault (even if they *are* kinda tucked away in #3), so I'll round back up to five stars."

"If I could give these guys 5 stars I would because I've been going to them since the beginning.Yes, When God created Adam & Eve he also gave us Shoe Wiz and I've been shlepping my shoes over there every year for anual upkeep since the the beginning of time.Believe me, sometimes it feels like it .Anyway, My Manolos smile when they arrive there and are glowing when they leave after being cared for and loved by the guys there.OK Look , The bottom line is go elsewhere and pay little and who knows what you'll be bringing back home, not to mention how much Valium will be needed that night !You go to Shoe Wiz and your shoes are given the royal treatment and yes it may cost more but why take chances with your precious babies.Right !"

"Eh... who knows how much is too much for a shoe shine? The guys who work here are real craftsmen, and it's fun to come in, kick off your shoes, and read the Home & Garden section while they set to work. They apply these crazy leather conditioners and clean up your heels and soles, all standard. Oh yeah, and "instant" is the right word."

"I'm a shoe slut. I whore myself to all the shoe stores and all the departments stores. Actually I've elevated myself to shoe high-class hooker...I've fallen prey to the cute AND expensive shoes. When my shoes need some tender lovin' care I bring them here. Nothing sounds worse then the metallic clink of your de-heeled shoes on the concrete. My baby's are re-heeled and polished for $11 dollars and are ready insanely quickly. I pick them up the next day cuz I have the patience of a 2 year old but you can wait 10 min or so and get them same day."

"All this city walking wore out the bottoms of my heels. I went in just hoping they could replace them while I waited without charging me a fortune. Not only did they replace them for $10 in 5 minutes, but when I got them back I saw they had also cleaned up the mess I had made on the heels (i tend to get my heels caught in grates all the time) and polished them up for me. Nice surprise."

"These dudes are amazing. They do this awesome while-you-wait heel repair for the low low price of like $10 and about five minutes, and if you wear high heels on the regular then you know how often you need to get the heel caps fixed, ya dig? An indispensable service, awesome repairmen, a convenient location (for me), and kind of a fun place to sit in your stocking feet in the middle of the day."
